Kendriya Vidyalaya Lalgarh came into existence on July 1985 and is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. It functioned as a Primary School in Army barracks for about 13 years. The first batches of 10th Class and 12th (Science and Commerce) Class were started in sessions 1990-1991 and 2000-2001 respectively.

Children seeking admission for UKG to Std X should pass a suitability test before admission to the concerned classes.
 
Application form for admission should be duly filled in and signed by the parent or guardian of the pupil.
