Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sambalpur is one of the oldest KVs of our country and it is one of the first two KVs established in the state of Odisha in the year 1965. It is a pioneer institution run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan, an autonomous body, under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India. 
 
It has been functioning in its own building having a very big attractive campus, catering to the educational needs of the children of the transferable Central Govt. employees including defense personnel, State Govt. employees and the floating population.
