Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kistwar was established in the year 1985 in the project premises of Dul Hasti Project of NHPC. The Vidyalaya caters the educational needs of about 700 children of project employees as well as few children of local residents also.

The Vidyalaya is marching ahead to impose the features of KV's under worthy directions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan a leading Educational set up under Ministry of HRD-Govt. of India.
