Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station, Avadi was established in the Defence Sector on 15th June 1964 in the campus of the Air Force Station. It is one of the oldest KendriyaVidyalayas and also one of the biggest with an enrolment of 2011 students from Classes I to XII. The Vidyalaya has grown over the years to its present state with the contributions of its illustrious Principals and Teachers.
 
The Vidyalaya offers Science and Commerce streams. There are 4 sections in Classes I to X, 2 sections in Science and one section in Commerce in the Senior Secondary Section. The Vidyalaya is an active participant in all the technology initiatives of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
