Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Shopian is a co-educational residential school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is made through the all India level selection test called Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST).

Seats are reserved for the children of rural areas. At least 75% of the seats of district are filled by candidates selected from rural areas and the remaining seats are filled from the district's urban areas.
