Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Korba was founded in the year 2000 and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and impart the CBSE curricula. Admission to Vidyalaya is made at the class VI level through open test conducted at District level by CBSE. It is situated in a 30.11 acre plot in Korba District and aims to promote National Integration through migration of students from Hindi speaking to non-Hindi speaking States and vice-versa.
Admissions:
Admission is done through competition test known as JNVST conducted by CBSE and Students are admitted in class VIth. The test consists of the objective questions on reasoning, mathematics and language.
In order to optionally utilize infrastructure facilities, available vacant seats at class IXth level are filled by selection test on the basis of class VIIIth syllabus. Medium of test is Hindi /English as per choice of applicants. Vacant seats of class XIth are filled on the basis of class Xth merit.
As per scheme maximum of 80 students are admitted in class VIth every year.
Facilities:
The Vidyalaya has all infrastructure facilities like academic block, well-equipped laboratories and large library hall with more than 13000 books and references. A Computer Lab with Internet facility, Multimedia classroom, Maths Lab, Language Lab, SUPW and Music room, multipurpose hall, Maths Park, M. I. Room, dormitories for boys and girls, dining hall, staff quarters and play fields. There are 44 Staff Quarters and 1 Guest Room to accommodate the Staff. The twin Kitchen-cum-Dining Halls serves the purpose of Mess.
