Established in the year 1987, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kodagu managed under the NavodayaVidyalaya Scheme is CBSE affiliated co-educational and residential school. Education in the Vidyalaya is free for all enrolled students including lodging, boarding, text books, uniforms etc and seeks to promote and develop talented, bright and gifted children predominantly from rural areas.
 


Admissions:
Admissions in the JawaharNavodayaVidyalayas take place on the basis of a Selection Test conducted by the CBSE. The test is called the JawaharNavodayaVidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) it is of non-verbal nature, class neutral and so designed to ensure that children from rural areas are able to compete without facing any disadvantages due to poor communication facilities in rural areas special care is taken to ensure that children from far flung rural areas get admission form free of cost without any problem.
 
Sufficient publicity is done through Doordarshan, All India Radio, local newspapers, pamphlets, visits of Principals and teachers of NavodayaVidyalayas to the local schools of the district.
 


Facilities:
The school campus houses a library, well equipped labs for physics, chemistry, biology, math, language and computer science, spacious classrooms with smart boards, multipurpose hall, infirmary, indoor games room and a playground.
