Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Karnal is a co-educational residential Vidyalaya in district Karnal (Haryana). The Vidyalaya seeks to promote and develop talented, bright and gifted children predominantly from rural areas who may otherwise be denied good educational opportunities. Vidyalaya has been producing 100% quality result since years, holding 1st rank in Region many a time. More over the Vidyalaya has been showered with different prestigious awards at regional and national levels.
 


Admissions:
Admissions in the JawaharNavodayaVidyalayas take place on the basis of a Selection Test conducted by the CBSE. The test is called the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) it is of non-verbal nature, class neutral and so designed to ensure that children from rural areas are able to compete without facing any disadvantages due to poor communication facilities in rural areas special care is taken to ensure that children from far flung rural areas get admission form free of cost without any problem.
 
Sufficient publicity is done through Doordarshan, All India Radio, local newspapers, pamphlets, visits of Principals and teachers of NavodayaVidyalayas to the local schools of the district.
 


Facilities:
The school building consists of  classrooms, laboratories, Computer Room, Samsung Smart Class room having 41 laptops with Wi-Fi facility, Language lab, Math lab, Art Room with Museum Corner, Music Room, fully enriched library, display areas with administrative and faculty rooms. Two sports fields for boys and girls separately provide them opportunity to enrich their health and body fitness. The unique Herbal Garden in the Vidyalayascatters natural beauty in the Vidyalaya compound and acts as a lap of nature. The entry extends on to a platform which acts as a stage during assembly. There are hostels which are designed to have good security with closed internal courtyard for outdoor living and passive recreation.
