Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chittoor was established in the year 1986 by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous organization set up under the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The Vidyalaya is affiliated to C.B.S.E. New Delhi. It has today matured into a coveted centre of excellence among the 598 NavodayaVidyalayas of the country.
 


Admissions:
Admission to JawaharNavodayaVidyalaya is made through the all India level selection test called Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST).
 
Talented students are selected through this test conducted each year by CBSE and are given admission to VIth class in the school.
 
Seats are reserved for the children of rural areas. At least 75% of the seats of district are filled by candidates selected from rural areas and the remaining seats are filled from the district's urban areas.
