A Phd in Law is a very serious study like all other doctoral programmes. However the fact that adds extra seriousness to this qualification is the implications that it has on society in general and also the systems and practices of law in the country. Aspirants have the option of pursuing a PhD in different array of specializations like cyber and corporate law.

Following is a list of Colleges and universities offering Phd in Law in India in cyber law and corporate law.

IGNOU PhD in Law Admission 2023:-

Duration: 02 years (minimum) 05 years (maximum)

Eligibility: Master degree in Law (LLM) with five years of teaching experience. (Research proposal needs to be submitted at the time of application with 55 percent marks

Selection Procedure: - Selection through PhD entrance test.

NLS Bangalore PhD in Law:-

Eligibility:-

The Candidate shall have an LL.M. Degree from recognized University securing ‘B+’ grade or an aggregate of 55% marks or its equivalent.

Duration:- Minimum period of three years and maximum five years.

Admission Test:-

There shall  be a written test which will consist of two papers

Paper I – Research Methodology
Paper II – Research Proposal specific paper

Each paper shall carry maximum of 100 marks and the candidate securing not less than 50% marks in each paper will qualify for making an oral presentation before the expert panel.

The candidates who have qualified for UGC NET / JRF, SLET  and M.PHIL.,Ph.D and the FOREIGN NATIONALS are  exempted  from  taking the Admission Test.


NLU Jodhpur PhD in Law:-

Eligibility:-

Postgraduate degree in the Law with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.

Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. However, before the completion of the admission procedure, the original mark sheet of the qualifying examination has to be produced to show that the candidate fulfills the eligibility criteria.


NALSAR Hyderabad PhD in Law Admission:-

Eligibility:-

Master’s Degree in law of any recognised university securing not less than 55% marks or its equivalent.

The admission shall be through a written test to be conducted by the university.

The candidates who have qualified for UGC NET / JRF, SLET, and M.Phil. are exempted from taking the admission test.


NLU Delhi PhD in Law:-

Eligibility:-

Master’s Degree in law of any recognised university securing not less than 55% marks or its equivalent, (50% in case of SC/ST/ persons with disability)

The admission to the Ph.D. Programme is made strictly on the basis of merit in the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) conducted by NLU, Delhi.

The candidates who have qualified for UGC, NET / JRF, SLET, and M. Phil. are exempted from taking the admission test.
