There is no dearth in terms of engineering colleges in Rajasthan offering good engineering education. However with an ever growing student base and selected engineering seats in state colleges, admission seems an uphill and difficult task for both students and colleges alike. As such, Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test is conducted. RPET directed by the Board of Technical education, Rajasthan for admission to first year undergraduate (bachelors) programmes in different disciplines of engineering (B.E/B.Tech) in government aided and private unaided technical institutions of the state. Premier engineering colleges like BITS Pilani, MNIT Jaipur and other deemed and private universities follow their own scheme for admission.
Eligibility for RPET 2016:
Educational qualification:
•10+2 or Class XII in science stream from Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan or any other recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 45 percent marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST category candidates).
• Aspirants appearing for qualifying exam (10+2) are also eligible to apply to RPET 2015.
Age:
Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1990 are eligible to apply for RPET 2015. Date of birth as recorded in secondary education marksheet or certificate will be considered as authentic.
Age Limit:
For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1985 are eligible to apply.
Domicile:
Aspirants belonging to the state of Rajasthan are only eligible to apply.
Subject combination required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech./B.E course is as follows:

Compulsory Subjects :- Physics & Mathematics
Optional Subjects (any one of the following):- Chemistry,Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology
RPET 2016 Application Procedure and Registration:
Interested applicants wishing to apply for RPET 2016 can apply online on any one of the following websites:

Candidates are required to complete the following steps while submitting RPET 2015 online application form
STEP 01: DEPOSIT APPLICATION FORM FEE
• The cost of application form is Rs 800.
• You can contact any e-mitra or CSC kiosk center or authorised center and deposit Rs 815/- (Rs 800/- application fee and Rs 15/- e-mitra service charges).
• The kiosk will generate a 16 digit token number. This number is important for activation and filling of online application form.
STEP 02: KEEP DOCUMENTS READY FOR FILLING APPLICATION FORM
•Scanned image of your photograph in JPEG format (Maximum 100 KB file size).
•Scanned image of your signature in JPEG format (Maximum 50 KB file size).
• Copy of X, XI and XII marksheets.
•Receipt issued by E-mitra containing your token number.
STEP 03: FILLING OF ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
• Read instructions carefully before filling online application form.
• Entries of application form must be filled as required.
• Upload passport sized photograph and signature.
• Changes in application form are only permitted till final submission.
STEP 04. SUBMIT APPLICATION AND TAKE PRINTOUT OF RPET 2015 ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
Take a printout of the application form that will be generated by the web portal after final submission of form.
STEP 05:SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM (HARDCOPY) TO RPET 2015 OFFICE
• Attach all required documents as mentioned in the check list provided under General Instructions.
• Write your application form number on each document.
• Send hardcopy of application form along with the photocopy of documents to the following address by either registered or speed post(not through courier).

RPET 2016 Pattern:-
RPET 2016 is a single examination of three hours duration containing 40 objective type questions in each sections ie Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total number of questions is 120.
The duration of Examination will be of 3 hours.
The questions in the question paper will be set in English as well as in Hindi.
For all objective type questions, one (1) mark will be awarded for every correct answer.
There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
Candidates are required to bring their own BLACK BALL POINT PEN ONLY (NOT GEL PEN) for answering the question paper. They must not bring log tables, calculators, mobiles or any other objectionable materials with them in the examination hall.
