Maulana Azad National Urdu University functions on a two fold objective of propagating Urdu and "reaching the unreached." DDE at present offers three post graduate, three undergraduate,eight PG diploma/diploma and certificate courses apart from the B.Ed course through distance mode. All these programmes are approved by the Distance Education Council of India and the B.Ed programme is approved by the NCTE. The university has an extensive distance network of study centers throughout the country and one based in Jeddah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).
