Womens Christian College was established in the year 1915 as a joint endeavor of 12 missionary societies from England and USA. The college had a humble beginning with only 41 students and 7 staff members. Today, it has emerged into a huge institution, which is house of knowledge to 2712 students and 141 members. The college got its autonomy in the year 1982. It is affiliated to the University of Madras.
