Vellalar College for Women, is a women's general degree college established in the year 1970. The college is affiliated with Bharathiar University and offers different courses in arts, commerce and science. Applications for admissions should be submitted to the Principal within 10 working days after the receipt of mark sheets of their qualifying examination. Late applications will be taken into consideration after giving priority to those received in time. Application forms are not transferable.
 
Admission will be made on the basis of merit, subject to the reservation rules of the Government of Tamilnadu i.e. 31% for open competition; 30% for Backward Classes; 20% for Most Backward classes and denotified communities; 18% for Scheduled Castes and 1% for Scheduled Tribes for each subject.
 
Selected candidates will be intimated by post and the same list will be displayed in the college notice board. Selected candidates shall join the college on the date specified therein in the admission card, after the interview with the Principal.
