University College of Medical Sciences or U.C.M.S is a medical college located in Delhi. The college is considered as one of the leading medical institutes in India. It was founded in the year 1971 by Health ministry department of Delhi. It is known for providing excellent research programs to students in its allied hospital namely, Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital.
The college offers a five and a half years MBBS program, which also includes internship program for gaining some practical knowledge about medical field. It also stresses on post graduate program of M.D, which is a three years degree course. Other courses include MDS (Paedodontics & Preventive Dentistry), D.N.B. (neurosurgery), B.Sc in radiology and many more.
The Students are selected on the basis of the Entrance Exam which is conducted by the University.
Being one of the top medical institutes of the country, the college has been accorded with modern infrastructure facilities. It has four air conditioned lecture halls with audio visuals facilities. All the lecture halls has been equipped with LCD projections and fully furnished benches. The institute also offers separate hostel facility for boys and girls. The campus also has parks, flats for teachers and professors, Central Workshop, medical education unit, an air conditioned examination hall with a seating capacity of 150 students at a time.
