Academy of Medical Sciences which is also known as Pariyaram Medical College was established in the year 1995. It is considered to be one of the best medical colleges in India and is affiliated to Kerala Health University.

Being a leading medical college, the institute offers four years full time Under Graduate course in Bachelor of Science with specialization in Nursing with the total intake capacity of 60 students. The college also endows some unique Post Graduate programmes in Master of Science with the specialization Obstetrics & Gynaecology Nursing and Medical & Surgical Nursing with the duration of two years and intake capacity of 10 students in each course respectively.

Apart from these degree courses, the institute also provides Diploma in Cardiothoracic Nursing. Cardiothoracic Nursing is an education where the students are trained for providing quality nursing care to the cardiac patients.


Admissions:

Eligibility Criteria :-

Candidates who have passed the Pre-degree Examination of the Universities in Kerala with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as optional  subjects or any other  examination recognised by  the Universities in Kerala as equivalent there  to, are  eligible for admission if they have   secured an aggregate of not less than 50% marks in the optional subjects and 50% for Biology.

Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. Degree Course (3 years Course) examination of the Universities in Kerala or any other University recognised by the Universities in Kerala as equivalent there-to, with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany/Biochemistry as main and any one or two of the above subjects as subsidiaries are also eligible for admission provided they have secured not less than 50% marks for the main and subsidiary subjects taken together.

Age: Applicants should have completed 17 years..  No relaxation of the minimum age limit shall be made on any account.



Facilities:

The institute is sprawled over an area of 119 acres of land in a hilly area of Pariyaram near Kannur district in Kerala. The institute offers well maintained and highly designed laboratories, library, class rooms and spacious rooms for extracurricular activities. It also provides separate hostel facility for both boys and girls.
