• BE Chemical Engineering

  • BE in Chemical Engeering programme was started in the year 1964 by National Institute of Technology Durgapur with active support of UNESCO. The department allows an intake capacity of 30 seats every year. The programme of CE lasts for four years and is comprised into total eight semesters. The department has appointed dedicated faculty members since beginning of this course. Since 1999 new curricula and syllabi were implemented in the college for undergraduate studies. The department arranges placement cells each year to provide suitable employment for the final year students immediately after graduation.

  • Eligibility

    The minimum academic qualification for admission is "pass" in the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) and having secured pass marks individually in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects; and any one of following optional subjects.
     
    1. Chemistry
    2. Biology
    3. Computer Science
    4. Biotechnology
     
    Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1987 are eligible for admission in 2012-2013 session. However in case of SC, ST and PH candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
     
    The candidate must be in good mental and physical health, and should satisfy the standard physical fitness criteria of the Institute (to be examined and certified by the Medical Officer of the Institute).
