Founded in the year 1998, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mohali (NIPER) is an Indian public Pharmacy research university. NIPER offers Masters and Doctoral programs in various fields of the pharmaceutical sciences.

Every year in June and July NIPER conducts national level entrance examinations for admissions.
 
The candidates are required to have qualified the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) in a suitable subject area.

The institute spread in an area of 130 acres of land provides all modern facilities that would help students to gain interest and would study with high concentration to achieve their goals. The facilities include laboratory, library, sports complex, computers, audio and visual aids, etc.It is a fully residential institute offering unmarried as well as married hostel accommodation.
