National Institute of Technology Suratkal is a public engineering institute that was set up in the year 1960. It is considered as one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology in India and is recognized as an Institute of National Importance. NITK Suratkal has been consistently ranked as one of the top engineering colleges in the country.
The institute has established its own identity as one of the excellent technical institutes and is getting to be known not only for its varied undergraduate courses but also Post Graduate programs. It offers full time undergraduate degree courses in Computer Science & engineering, Electronics and communication Engineering, Instrumentation & control engineering, Mechanical engineering and Information engineering. It also offers three years full time course of MCA (Master of Computer Application).
NITK is located on National Highway 66 and has a lush green 295 acres campus. It features well maintained campus that has high-quality science labs, books and computer library, Conference halls and contemporary class rooms. There is a STD booth and ATM facilities for the students within the premises of college. Medical facilities are also provided to the students and teachers in case of emergencies. It also offers separate hostel facility. There are 11 hostel blocks for boys and 4 hostel blocks for girls.
