Founded in 1873, Midnapore College is one of the oldest colleges in Midnapore. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts and sciences. It is affiliated to Vidyasagar University and has been given Autonomous status by University Grants Commission. It is only the fourth aided college to be granted and aims at imparting education to the undergraduates of lower- and middle-class people of Midnapore and its adjoining areas.

The admission will be done through an Online Merit Based System. Online Application Forms for admission will be available from Midnapore College website. Merit list for admission will be based on marks obtained in best five subjects of WBCHSE. Application fee of Rs. 400/- (Rupees four hundred) only has to be paid online through Payment Gateway Mode. All admissions are provisional and will be cancelled during verification and any time for incorporation of incorrect data or false statements.
