M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women was established in the year 1992 has been committed to its goals of attracting and supporting top caliber women students in the areas of higher education.

The college offered itself for accreditation in its decennial year and has been reaccredited in 2009 by the NAAC (The National Assessment & Accreditation Council) with an ‘A’ grade and a 3.51 CGPA on a 4 point scale.

College also has the distinction of being one of the youngest colleges in the country to have been granted autonomy by the University Grants Commission and the University of Madras.
