Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada is a technical school that is known for offering excellent education to those students who aspire to become an engineer or aim of achieving higher position in the field of IT. The institute was founded in the year 1946 by the then Government of Madras. Initially, it was affiliated to the University of Madras and later to Andhra University. But, in 2008, it received autonomous status by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University act.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada offers four years full time program of Bachelor of Engineering with specialization in its different branches such as Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Information Technology.

It also offers Masters in Engineering in the following fields :
