The existence of Dr. Syamala Reddy Dental College in Srinagar can be traced back to the year 1991, after realizing the need for a dental institute for local students. The institution is known for imparting quality medical education both for Undergraduates and Post graduates students. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and is accredited with the Dental Council of India (DCI).

The College offers a wide range of dental courses.  Undergraduate course includes Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), which is a five years full time course. Every year, the college accepts 20 students for the course. Dr. Syamala Reddy Dental College also provides excellent facilities for Postgraduate course in Dentistry i.e. MDS in disciplines like Endodontics and Orthodontics. 


Admissions:

The Institute accept candidates who have passed the pre-university examination of the Board of the Karnataka or any other equivalent exam in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English (PCBE) Students who have not less than 50% of aggregate marks in the above-mentioned subjects are eligible for admission to the 1st year B.D.S. Course.

The college has its campus on a vast land of 7 acres that was provided by SGR Technical and Educational Society. The campus is well designed and provides all the facilities to the students. The classrooms are spacious, well-lit and designed to be aesthetic as well as functional, with well-designed furniture, and the latest equipment necessary for learning. The college has Well-equipped Computer Room with Multimedia, LAN, Printers and UPS for continuous power supply.
