Department of Architecture BIT Mesra was established in the year 1993.  Today, It is one of the top Indian institutes imparting architectural education.

The department offers a five year Bachelor of Architecture course, admission to which is in conformation with the Regulations of Council of Archiecture, India.

The department also offers the degree of Master of Urban Planning, approved by AICTE and the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI).

The department has upgraded its Architectural Graphics Laboratory with latest software and workstations. It has also established a seminar room fully equipped with various audio-visual equipment like LCD projector, Overhead projector and slide projector. The Department has also set up a Building Centre with financial support from HUDCO. The centre will promote use of Cost Effective & Environment Friendly Technologies for Building construction through various training programmes.
