CIPET or Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology is an autonomous institute under the department of chemicals and petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India which came into existence in the year 1968.
This is the only institute of this kind in India where all facilities like design, tooling, processing and testing of plastics are available under one roof. CIPET caters to the needs of plastic industries through manpower training, processing, design and CAD/ CAM/ CAE, testing, consultancy, advisory and developmental services.
Admissions to diploma and post diploma courses are done by CIPET-JEE. For Undergraduate and Postgraduate and Doctoral research programs the admission is through respective universities affiliated to.
Selection will be based on the marks secured by the candidate in JEE and the previous academic performance and as per norms of affiliating university.
CIPET JEE is conducted second Sunday of July every year across the country. The admission form is available at all CIPET locations in the month of May. It can also be downloaded from CIPET website.
Institute campus has well architected infrastructure with modern facilities that includes library, laboratory, auditorium, canteen, ATM, post office, gymnasium, etc to comfort the life of students who come up with the aim of achieving their high goals.
The Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of this college. The cell plays a crucial role in counseling and guiding the learners of the college for their successful career placement.
