Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is a premier medical college, which was set up by the Armed forces of India. It is a unique institution that deals with the study of health sciences in order to cater the demand for medical professionals for the Armed Forces of the nation. It was developed in the year 1948 in Pune, Maharashtra.  The college is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik and is recognized by the Medical Council of India.

The institution conducts training of medical undergraduates and post-graduates, nursing undergraduates and post-graduates, dental postgraduates and paramedical staff. Ever since its inception in 1948, the college has produced well qualified medical professionals for to the Armed forces.

Admission Procedure :

The course commences in the month of Aug. Advertisements for recruitment appear in the leading news papers of the country in the month of Oct/ Dec every year, both for B Sc & GNM courses. Candidates are required to submit their application forms in the prescribed format, along with other necessary documents mentioned therein.
Eligibility:

The candidate must be an Indian National or a subject of Nepal or Sikkim, Age 17-25 years.

Selection Procedure :

Selection will be based on the merit of the candidate at an All India level.

A written objective type of examination will be conducted in February/ March every year, at certain selected centres (Published from time to time.)
Successful candidates will be called for an interview at selected centres in the month of April/May each year.
Candidates must be declared medically fit. The fitness will be determined by a Medical Board of Military Medical Officers.
Merit listed candidates based on the interview and medical fitness will be called for B. Sc. (Nsg).
Selected candidates will be required to execute a bond of agreement to serve in the Military Nursing Service for a minimum period of 5 yrs as permanent commissioned officers, on successful completion of the course.

MBBS Admission :-

For Admission to the MBBS the students have to appear in the NEET.
