Department of Biotechnology, University of Pune is one of the leading institutes for biotechnology in India, which is known for offering excellent education to those students who aspire to become a doctor or aim of achieving higher position in the new and exotic branches of Biotechnology. It was established in the year 1994 by the Government of India.

Being a part of one of the leading Universities, the department offers two years course of M.Sc with special focus on Botany, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Life Sciences. It also imparts M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs in Biotechnology and related areas.

The admssion of the candidate is been done on the basis of the Entrance examination which is conducted by the university.
