Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore is established in 1994 is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It has the distinction of being Amrita's first center for higher learning. It aims to make its programs the best in the country based on a focused approach with respect to the critical areas of curriculum, teaching-learning, student support, infrastructure and research.
Being affiliated by AICTE, the institute offers B.Tech. and M.Tech. programmes in various disciplines. In addition, it also offers programs leading to the MCA degree and Ph.D in Engineering and Sciences.

Admissions:
Applicants willing to seek education in this institute need to follow the eligibility criteria for various courses available in the college.
For Undergraduate: The candidates have to appear in the Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE), conducted by the University.
Along with the score, candidate must have cleared Higher Secondary (Plus Two) examination of a recognised Board or its equivalent, securing 60% or above marks in Mathematics, 55% or above separately in Physics and Chemistry with an aggregate of minimum 60% in the three subjects.
For Post Graduate:
MCA - The selection of the candidates is based on Amrita University MCA Entrance Exam, which is conducted by the University. For the final selection, personal interview of the candidates is also conducted.
M.Tech - The candidates are selected on the basis of GATE entrance test, group discussion and personal interview.
Doctorate: The admissions are done through GATE entrance test and academic performances of the candidates.

The average salary of an engineering graduate is Rs.3.7 lakhs per annum and the highest salary offered at present is Rs.13.39 lakhs per annum.
