Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology (AIT) is located in Chikmagalur in Karnataka. It was founded in the year 1980 and is considered as one of the oldest and top engineering institutes in the state of Karnataka.

The institute offers excellent technical training to those students who want to enter in the field of engineering. It offers four years full time Under Graduate course of B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) with specializations in different branches such as Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrics & Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. The college is also known for providing Post Graduate programme of M.Tech (Master of Technology) with the total intake capacity of 18 students in each branch.


Admissions:

Admission for the first year of the course shall be open to the students who have passed the two year Pre-University examination (Science) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board.
OR
10+2 the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects and English as a subject of study.
OR
Those who have passed another examination recognized by the University as equivalent there to.

2. The Candidates passed in (10+2) or any other equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and with 45% of aggregate marks in Physics ,Mathematics and one of the subjects of Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biotechnology.

3. The three year Diploma Holders in appropriate branch of Engineering granted (awarded) by the Board of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka or any other Diploma qualification considered equivalent thereto by this University are eligible for admission.

4. All other candidates (Non-Karnataka) have to obtain eligibility certificate for seeking admission to B.E. degree course from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum through the College. The University will notify dates for the issue of eligibility certificates from time to time.

5. For foreign students - After ensuring that the candidate meets the minimum essential requirements as specified, a letter of admission will be issued by AIT based on which the candidate can obtain a visa from the Government of India. Admission will be made only after the candidate submits relevant documents including visa.



Facilities:

The most important thing about the institute is that it is located in the famous city of Chikamagalur, which is known for coffee plantation. The city is surrounded by coffee plantations. Chickmagalur has reasonably cool and pleasant climate for major part of the year. The Institute has highly qualified and experienced teachers with reputation in their areas of specialization. It has well equipped laboratories, sufficient books and periodicals in the library and fleet of buses for transportation. The college also offers separate hostel facility for boys and girls.
