A.V.C. College of Engineering is an engineering college that was set up by A.V. Charities in the year 1996. A.V. Charities was founded in 1806 by Sri. S. Ramalingam Pillai. The institute is considered to be one of the pioneer self financing engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. It is sprawled over a huge area in Nagapattinam district.

A.V.C. College of Engineering has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and also possesses ISO 9001:2008 certificate. It is affiliated to Anna University Tiruchirapillai. The college has established its own identity as one of the excellent technical institutes and is getting to be known not only for its varied undergraduate courses but also Post Graduate programmes. It offers full time undergraduate degree courses in Computer Science & enginnering, Electronics and communication Engineering, Instrumentation & control engineering, Mechanical engineering and Information engineering. MBA, MCA, MSc (Information technology) and Msc (Software engineering) are some of the Post graduate programmes that are provided by the institute.
