M Tech Biotechnology is a two years post graduate programme offered by Anna University. The course is divided in four semesters and is approved by AICTE. Details of eligibility criteria and admission procedure are given below.

Eligibility:-

Candidates possessing B.Tech. degree with minimum 60% marks of equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Leather Technology, Pharmaceutical Technology, Food Technology, B.Pharma and Dairy Technology or Master’s degree with minimum 60% marks or equivalent in Life sciences, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Physiology, Pharmacology and Bio-physics are eligible to apply for M.Tech. Biotechnology offered at Anna University, Chennai & Jadavpur University, Calcutta.

Admission Procedure:-

The eligible students can seek admission either through a Joint Entrance Examination conducted by JNU on behalf of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Delhi or through GATE. NOTE: Qualifying marks in GATE is considered essential for eligibility for fellowships. Non-GATE students are eligible for the award of DBT fellowship.
