Rastriya Miilitary School Belgaum was founded on 30th December 1945 as the fourth such institution set up in the country. The School prepares boys, who are desirous of joining the Armed Forces for the entrance examination of National Defense Academy. It aims to prepare students for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
 


Admissions:
For admission to class VI, IX and XI, the candidate should have passed class v, viii and x respectively from a recognized school at the time of admission.
 
Candidate should be medically fit as declared by medical board at the time of admission.
 
A common entrance test on all India basis for class VI and IX is conducted in the month of Dec each year followed by interview at respective military schools, for which weightage has been laid down.  Admission to class XI is based on class X board exam results.  No written exam will be held for admission to class XI.
 


Facilities:
The school spreads over an area of 64.13 acres in which the school buildings include 14 different playgrounds like Cricket, Football, Hockey, Athletics track, Baseball, Basket Ball, Volleyball, Swimming Pool, Squash Court etc. The important school buildings include Main Office Block, Boys Hostels, Cadets' Mess, Academic block, Temple and Old Assembly Hall, New Assembly Hall, Gymnasium, QM Store, Wet Canteen, MI Room and other buildings in addition to the residential accommodation for the Staff.
