Promoted in the year 1983, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Steel plant has become a centre of excellence in the field of Primary, Secondary & Senior-secondary education for the children of the employees of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

The school is run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi and is an English medium co-educational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education.
