Kendriya Vidyalaya, CRPF, Avadi was started in 1978 under Civil Sector. The school was initially run in a barrack given by CRPF inside the land given by them. It is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and aims to initiate and promote experimentation and innovativeness in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education and National Council of Educational Research and Training etc.
