Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Raipur was established in July 1987 in pursuance to the National Policy of Education. The objective of the vidyalaya is to provide free education of highly quality to the talented students of the distinct, hailing from rural areas. Students are selected on a competitive selection test conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. Selected students are provided free boarding facilities, text books, stationery etc. The admitted children are accommodated in different houses.
 


Admissions:
Admission to JawaharNavodayaVidyalaya is made through the all India level selection test called Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST).
 
Talented students are selected through this test conducted each year by CBSE and are given admission to VIth class in the school.
 
Seats are reserved for the children of rural areas. At least 75% of the seats of district are filled by candidates selected from rural areas and the remaining seats are filled from the district's urban areas.
