Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bhillowal, Amritsar - II, Punjab has been established in the year 2009 is presently functioning at a temporary site. The Vidyalaya is under construction at its permanent site which is spread over 19 Acres of land and the school will move there shortly. It is fully residential, co-educational school affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi having classes from 6 to 12 standard.
 


Admissions:
Admission is done through competition test known as JNVST conducted by CBSE and Students are admitted in class VIth. The test consists of the objective questions on reasoning, mathematics and language. 
 
In order to optionally utilize infrastructure facilities, available vacant seats at class IXth level are filled by selection test on the basis of class VIIIth syllabus. Medium of test is Hindi /English as per choice of applicants. Vacant seats of class XIth are filled on the basis of class Xth merit.
 
As per scheme maximum of 80 students are admitted in class VIth every year.


Facilities:
The Vidyalaya has all infrastructure facilities like academic block, well-equipped laboratories and large library hall with more than 13000 books and references. A Computer Lab with Internet facility, Multimedia classroom, Maths Lab, Language Lab, SUPW and Music room, multipurpose hall, M. I. Room, dormitories for boys and girls, dining hall, staff quarters and play fields. It also has twin Kitchen-cum-Dinning Halls serves the purpose of Mess.
