The Right to Education act (RTE) not only advocates the fundamental right to education for each child but also highlights the importance of bringing quality to education. Teachers form an important part of educational infrastructure and good educaters are seemingly the backbone of a strong system of education. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) lays down certain guidelines for recruitment of teachers. An important guideline is the conduct of a Teacher EligibilityTest (TET) by the appropriate government.
The Teacher Eligibility test in Uttarakhand is known as UTET (Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test). UTET is important for teaching aspirants wishing to be employed as teachers in primary (class I to V) and upper primary (class VI to VIII) in schools of the state of Uttarakhand.
The exam is extremely important for B.Ed aspirants who wish to be considered for government jobs in government and privately managed schools. Aspirants can appear for either Paper I or Paper II or for both papers. A candidate who has passed the exam with the required percentage is considered as a UTET pass.
