Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) conduct Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission in Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses. The candidates for admission will be selected solely on the basis of merit which is based on his/her academic career performance, Entrance Examination and Extracurricular activities.

Courses - Eligibility:-

B.Sc (Ag):- + 2 with PCM or PCB

B. Sc Forestry: - + 2 with PCM or PCB

B.Sc Horticulture:- + 2 with PCM or PCB

B. Sc B.V.Sc & A.H: - + 2 with PCB

B. Tech. (Agri. Engg): - + 2 with PCM

B.F.Sc (Fisheries):- + 2 with PCB

B. Sc (Home Science (Girls & Boys): -  + 2 with PCM or PCB

Minimum Qualification: - +2 Science / equivalent with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate including extra optional. For SC/ST/PwD/PMSSS for B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture at CA, BBSR/ Kashmiri Migrant /Kashmiri Pundit (Non Migrant) /Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non Migrant) candidates, it is 40%.

The candidate must complete 17 years of age by 31.12.2023.

Admission is open to the following categories of candidates:-

i)  Those who have passed H.S.C. / Equivalent Examination with Odia as M.I.L.

ii)   Those who do not have Odia as M .I. L. but whose parents are permanent residents of Odisha must furnish evidence of such permanent residency in the form of a certificate from  the  Revenue  Officer  concerned  not  below  the  rank  of  Tahasildar  /District Magistrate. No affidavit to this effect shall be entertained.

iii)  Those who do not have Odia as M.I.L but whose parents are serving under the Govt. of Odisha/Central Govt. /Public Undertaking or any University in the State of Odisha, the candidate must furnish a certificate to that effect from the Head of the Office /Institution where his/her parent (s) is/are working.

iv)    Odia candidates permanently residing outside Odisha must furnish a certificate to the effect  that  he/she  is  an  Odia  permanently  residing  outside  Odisha  which  must  be issued by the District Magistrate of the District in which he/she is residing.

There will be a COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION for selection of the candidates for admission into B.Sc.(Ag), B.Sc. (Forestry), B. Sc. (Horticulture), B.F.Sc., B.V.Sc. & A.H., B. Tech. (Agril. Engg.) and B.Sc.(Home Science) courses. The candidates for admission will be selected solely on the basis of Merit (Weighted Score) which is based on his/her performance of academic career, Entrance Examination and Extra curricular activities. If two or more candidates secure the same computed score, the tie shall be resolved and their merit positions will be decided on the basis of higher marks in the Entrance Examination or +2 Science or HSC/equivalent in that order

The candidates seeking admission into B.Sc. (Forestry) Course should qualify Physical Endurance Test to be conducted before counseling of each category. To appear at Physical Endurance Test, the candidates should posses the minimum physical standard as follows.

Eligibility requirement (B.Sc. Forestry)

1) Height

i) Male (General & SC) = 163cm.,ST = 152cm

ii) Female (General & SC) = 150cm., ST = 145cm

2) Chest girth i) Male = 79cm to 84cm (Minimum 5 cm. expansion)
ii) Female = 74cm to 79 cm (Minimum 5 cm. expansion)

3) Physical capacity for Fast walking in four hours :-

i) Male = 25km ii) Female = 14km.

The candidate has to pay Rs. 1500.00 (Rupees one thousand five hundred only) as application fees to the University besides bank charges as specified by the Bank depending upon the mode of payment selected through online payment gateway using internet Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card of any Bank / UPI.

Upload his/her recent passport size colour photograph (Height: 200px, width: 150px, file size: 200kb maximum), full signature (Height: 100px, width: 150px, file size: 200kb maximum) in jpg/jpeg format.

OUAT CET 2023 Syllabus:-

The syllabus for OUAT CET 2023 is the same science syllabus followed by state and CBSE boards for Annual +2 exam.

OUAT CET 2023 Pattern:-

Duration - 2 Hours

Mode - Computer Based Test (CBT)

Type - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Medium - English

Subjects - Marks -

Physics - 66 marks

Chemistry - 66 marks

Mathematics/Biology - 68 marks

Total - 200 marks

Each question carries one mark.

There is no negative mark for wrong answer.


The first step for preparation of exam begins with planning tactics by allotting equal time to every subject. Try to make a specific goal of finishing topic every day. Don’t land yourself in any kind of illusion by having lots of study on a single day. Try to revise as much as you can. Stick to basics law of physics. Practice plenty of sums in order to solve problems quicker.
