As far as government service is concerned, the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) which is marked as a category 'A' government service is a highly special and a respected government service. The Indian Adminstrative Services is special as it works internally for the smooth functioning of law and order without any hinderance. Right from the conception of the Indian constitution, IAS as a career has been a much preferred option for the Indian youth of all-time. Even today, jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem. This is the prime reason why youth are attracted to career of an IAS officer. Every year lakhs of aspirants from each corner of India apply for admission into IAS.
 
However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2023 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam serves as a common aptitude test for other civil services like IFS, IPS, Group A and Group B central services. Needless to say, it is one of the toughest exams that probably requires more than one attempt to achieve success. 
 
IAS 2023 Eligibility:-  
 
Age Limits -
 
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2023 i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1991 and not later than 1st August, 2002 .

The upper age-limit prescribed above will be relaxable -

up to a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe;

up to a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

Minimum Educational Qualification -

A candidate must hold a Graduate degree from recognised university.

Candidates who have appeared at a qualifying examination will also be eligible for admission to the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination.

Upload photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 300 KB each and must not be less than 20 KB in size for the photograph and signature.

The candidate should have details of one Photo ID Card viz. Aadhar Card/ Voter Card / PAN Card / Passport/ Driving License / Any other photo ID card issued by the State / Central Government.

Part A - Preliminary Examination -

Paper I - 200 marks

Current events of national and international importance.

History of India and Indian National Movement.

Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.

Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.

Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.

General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.

General Science.

Paper II- 200 marks

Duration - 2 hours

Comprehension;

Interpersonal skills including communication skills;

Logical reasoning and analytical ability;

Decision making and problem solving;

General mental ability;

Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. — Class X level);

Note 1 : Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.

Note 2 : The questions will be of multiple choice, objective type.

Note 3 : It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both the Papers of Civil Services (Prelim) Examination for the purpose of evaluation. Therefore a candidate will be disqualified in case he/she does not appear in both the papers of Civil Services (Prelim) Examination.


 

IAS 2023 Pattern:-

A. PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION -

The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each.

Note -

(i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions) and each will be of two hours duration.
(ii) The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
(iii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.
(iv) Details of the syllabi are indicated in Part A of Section III

B. MAIN EXAMINATION -

The Written Examination will consist of the following papers:—

Paper A (One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution) - 300 Marks

Paper B English - 300 Marks

Papers to be counted for merit:

Paper I Essay - 250 Marks

(Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society)

Paper III General Studies II - 250 Marks

IAS As far as government service is concerned, the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) which is marked as a category 'A' government service is a highly special and a respected government service. The Indian Adminstrative Services is special as it works internally for the smooth functioning of law and order without any hinderance. Right from the conception of the Indian constitution, IAS as a career has been a much preferred option for the Indian youth of all-time. Even today, jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem. This is the prime reason why youth are attracted to career of an IAS officer. Every year lakhs of aspirants from each corner of India apply for admission into IAS. However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2016 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam serves as a common aptitude test for other civil services like IFS, IPS, Group A and Group B central services. Needless to say, it is one of the toughest exams that probably requires more than one attempt to achieve success. IAS 2016 Eligibility:- Mimum Educational Qualifications:- a) The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. b) Applicants appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply for IAS 2016. c) Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply. d) Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for the prelim exam. Age Limit:- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years. Age Relaxation:- (i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. (ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. IAS Registration / Application Form IAS 2016 Online Application Form/ Registration:- Apply online at website:- http://www.upsconline.nic.in The Online applications(Part I and II) can be filled from 27th April, 2016 to 27th May, 2016 till 11.59 p.m., after which link will be disabled. Candidates will be required to complete the Online Application Form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II as per the instructions. The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs.100/- Rupees One Hundred only) [excepting SC/ST/ Female/Physically Handicapped candidates who are exempted from payment of fee] either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility ofState Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using any Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card. IAS As far as government service is concerned, the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) which is marked as a category 'A' government service is a highly special and a respected government service. The Indian Adminstrative Services is special as it works internally for the smooth functioning of law and order without any hinderance. Right from the conception of the Indian constitution, IAS as a career has been a much preferred option for the Indian youth of all-time. Even today, jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem. This is the prime reason why youth are attracted to career of an IAS officer. Every year lakhs of aspirants from each corner of India apply for admission into IAS. However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2016 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam serves as a common aptitude test for other civil services like IFS, IPS, Group A and Group B central services. Needless to say, it is one of the toughest exams that probably requires more than one attempt to achieve success. IAS 2016 Eligibility:- Mimum Educational Qualifications:- a) The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. b) Applicants appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply for IAS 2016. c) Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply. d) Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for the prelim exam. Age Limit:- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years. Age Relaxation:- (i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. (ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. IAS Registration / Application Form IAS 2016 Online Application Form/ Registration:- Apply online at website:- http://www.upsconline.nic.in The Online applications(Part I and II) can be filled from 27th April, 2016 to 27th May, 2016 till 11.59 p.m., after which link will be disabled. Candidates will be required to complete the Online Application Form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II as per the instructions. However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2016 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. IAS As far as government service is concerned, the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) which is marked as a category 'A' government service is a highly special and a respected government service. The Indian Adminstrative Services is special as it works internally for the smooth functioning of law and order without any hinderance. Right from the conception of the Indian constitution, IAS as a career has been a much preferred option for the Indian youth of all-time. Even today, jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem. This is the prime reason why youth are attracted to career of an IAS officer. Every year lakhs of aspirants from each corner of India apply for admission into IAS. However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2016 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam serves as a common aptitude test for other civil services like IFS, IPS, Group A and Group B central services. Needless to say, it is one of the toughest exams that probably requires more than one attempt to achieve success. IAS 2016 Eligibility:- Mimum Educational Qualifications:- a) The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. b) Applicants appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply for IAS 2016. c) Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply. d) Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for the prelim exam. Age Limit:- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years. Age Relaxation:- (i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. (ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. IAS As far as government service is concerned, the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) which is marked as a category 'A' government service is a highly special and a respected government service. The Indian Adminstrative Services is special as it works internally for the smooth functioning of law and order without any hinderance. Right from the conception of the Indian constitution, IAS as a career has been a much preferred option for the Indian youth of all-time. Even today, jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem. This is the prime reason why youth are attracted to career of an IAS officer. Every year lakhs of aspirants from each corner of India apply for admission into IAS. However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2016 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam serves as a common aptitude test for other civil services like IFS, IPS, Group A and Group B central services. Needless to say, it is one of the toughest exams that probably requires more than one attempt to achieve success. IAS 2016 Eligibility:- Mimum Educational Qualifications:- a) The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. b) Applicants appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply for IAS 2016. c) Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply. d) Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for the prelim exam. Age Limit:- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years. Age Relaxation:- (i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. (ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. IAS Registration / Application Form IAS 2016 Online Application Form/ Registration:- Apply online at website:- http://www.upsconline.nic.in The Online applications(Part I and II) can be filled from 27th April, 2016 to 27th May, 2016 till 11.59 p.m., after which link will be disabled. Candidates will be required to complete the Online Application Form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II as per the instructions. IAS As far as government service is concerned, the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) which is marked as a category 'A' government service is a highly special and a respected government service. The Indian Adminstrative Services is special as it works internally for the smooth functioning of law and order without any hinderance. Right from the conception of the Indian constitution, IAS as a career has been a much preferred option for the Indian youth of all-time. Even today, jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem. This is the prime reason why youth are attracted to career of an IAS officer. Every year lakhs of aspirants from each corner of India apply for admission into IAS. However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2016 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam serves as a common aptitude test for other civil services like IFS, IPS, Group A and Group B central services. Needless to say, it is one of the toughest exams that probably requires more than one attempt to achieve success. IAS 2016 Eligibility:- Mimum Educational Qualifications:- a) The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. b) Applicants appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply for IAS 2016. c) Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply. d) Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for the prelim exam. Age Limit:- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years. Age Relaxation:- (i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. (ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. IAS Registration / Application Form IAS 2016 Online Application Form/ Registration:- Apply online at website:- http://www.upsconline.nic.in The Online applications(Part I and II) can be filled from 27th April, 2016 to 27th May, 2016 till 11.59 p.m., after which link will be disabled. Candidates will be required to complete the Online Application Form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II as per the instructions. IAS As far as government service is concerned, the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) which is marked as a category 'A' government service is a highly special and a respected government service. The Indian Adminstrative Services is special as it works internally for the smooth functioning of law and order without any hinderance. Right from the conception of the Indian constitution, IAS as a career has been a much preferred option for the Indian youth of all-time. Even today, jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem. This is the prime reason why youth are attracted to career of an IAS officer. Every year lakhs of aspirants from each corner of India apply for admission into IAS. However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2016 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam serves as a common aptitude test for other civil services like IFS, IPS, Group A and Group B central services. Needless to say, it is one of the toughest exams that probably requires more than one attempt to achieve success. IAS 2016 Eligibility:- Mimum Educational Qualifications:- a) The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. b) Applicants appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply for IAS 2016. c) Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply. d) Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for the prelim exam. Age Limit:- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years. Age Relaxation:- (i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. (ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. IAS Registration / Application Form IAS 2016 Online Application Form/ Registration:- Apply online at website:- http://www.upsconline.nic.in The Online applications(Part I and II) can be filled from 27th April, 2016 to 27th May, 2016 till 11.59 p.m., after which link will be disabled. Candidates will be required to complete the Online Application Form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II as per the instructions. The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs.100/- Rupees One Hundred only) [excepting SC/ST/ Female/Physically Handicapped candidates who are exempted from payment of fee] either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility ofState Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using any Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card.
