Jammu University's Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) formerly known as the "Institute of Correspondence Education"is approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC) and the AICTE and UGC for distance education. The Directorate offers programmes from regular BA degree to Diploma in Business Management. Students are approved by self learning material that is distributed by hand or send through post. In case of some courses, SLM is also posted on the university's website. Another distinctive feature of the distance education courses offered by the university is that of Personal Contact Programme (PCP) and Counselling session.
