Berhampur University Distance Education Center named after Harihar Madraj, who was a great connoisseur for education in the state is known for its innovative and skill specific academic programmes that have encouraged distance learning. The center for distance learning offers 19 post graduate programmes in faculties of commerce, science, humanities, management and law. These distance courses aim at providing the best possible education in a given stream to distance learners and in particular educationally underprivileged, socially disadvantaged and economically backward sections of the southern region of Orissa. Admission to these courses is done once a year in the month of June.
