Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur is a public engineering institute that was established in June 1960 in the honor of a famous engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), previously Regional College of Engineering is considered as one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology in India and is recognized as an Institute of National Importance.  

The institute has established its own identity as one of the excellent technical institutes and is getting to be known not only for its varied undergraduate courses but also Post Graduate programs. It offers full time undergraduate degree courses in Computer Science & engineering, Electronics and communication Engineering, Instrumentation & control engineering, Mechanical engineering and Information engineering. B.Arch degree is also offered through Architect program, which is a 5 years full timer program.

Graduate and research programs, leading to Master's and Ph.D. degrees, are offered by the Architecture and all the Engineering departments.

Facilities:

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) is located in the second capital of Maharashtra i.e. Nagpur. The 220 acres campus features 10 men’s hostels and 3 women’s hostel. There is a health care center that caters primary and urgent medical care for students and staff. The campus has facilities for auditoriums, a computer center, sporting facilities, a State Bank of India branch, coffee shops, a co-op store and a post office.
