Vels University was established in the year 1992, to provide relevant academic programs of practical and real world knowledge to empower the students to achieve professional and personal success in today’s competitive society. The university aims at innovative syllabi and new courses and hence the revision of curricula is a continuous and an on-going process.
The university offers 20 undergraduate, 26 post graduate programmes and 8 diploma and certificate programmes of contemporary relevance. University status was conferred to the Vel's Group of Institutions, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, government of India in 2008.
 

Admissions:
Applicants willing to seek admission in the institute can register through online or offline process. Application forms will be available on the official website of the institute.
Institute accepts valid scores of various all India based entrance exams for different courses. Along with the entrance marks, candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent from any statutory board with minimum marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). 
Selection will be completely done on the merit basis.
