Vellore Institute of Technology in Vellore is considered to be one of the leading technical training institutes in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is founded in the year 1984 by the North Arcot Education and Charitable Trust.  Ever since its inception, the college strives in holistic formation of the participants by equipping them with the new and emerging skills of engineering.

The University offers a wide range of programs to those students who want to enter in the field of Sciences and Technology. These courses include Computer Science and Engineering, Bio-Sciences & technology, Information technology & engineering, Electrical engineering, Advanced Sciences, Electronics engineering, and Mechanical & Building Sciences. The programs offered by the institute have been NAAC and AICTE. Moreover, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), United Kingdom and the Energy Institute, United Kingdom have audited the teaching-learning processes at VIT and accredited the programs in 2004, with the highest validity of five years.

Admissions:

Candidates should have graduated with a full-time degree from any recognized University with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks for MCA and 50% marks for M.Tech. degree programmes.
Consistent Record in X Std. and XII Std. is required (For MCA Programme).
Candidates appearing for their final degree exam / final semester exam in the current year are also eligible to apply.
Candidates should have completed their final Semester / year exams before the selection interview at VIT University.
It is compulsory for candidates selected to produce their final year marks statement and Provisional degree certificate before August 15th, failing which, their admission will stand cancelled.



Facilities:

Vellore Institute of Technology is located near the Katpadi-Ranikhet state highway on the outskirts of Vellore. The university provides various sporting facilities such as an athletic track and field stadium, basketball courts, tennis courts, two swimming pools (one is Olympic sized), and a football ground. It has a Wi-Fi enabled campus accorded with well maintained class rooms. The cosmopolitan atmosphere of the institute is conducive to all round development of the participants.
