Promoted in the year 1946, St. Joseph’s College of Education for Women is a Roman Catholic minority institution managed under the Society of Jesus Mary Joseph. It was the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh, meant solely for the training of women graduates and post-graduates of all creeds and communities in general and Christians in particular. It aims to prepare women as efficient and effective teachers by nurturing in them a comprehensive knowledge through the conduct of curricular and co-curricular programmes.

B Ed: Admissions are made on the basis of merit through Ed. CET Entrance as per the rules of the State Government. The candidates should have attained an aggregate of 40% fir SC,ST,BC and 50% for OC, in the Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university. The seats are allotted by the Ed. CET convenor as per the rules and regulations of EDCET.
 
M Ed: No candidate shall be admitted to the course of the Degree of Master of Education unless he has taken the B.Ed. degree in Nagarjuna University or equivalent degree in some other University recognized by the Academic Council.
