Sir Jamsetjee Jeejebhoy College of Architecture is considered as Asia’s first architectural school, which was founded in the year 1913. It is one of the leading institutes of Architecture in India. The institute has gained huge accolades for equipping students with the thorough knowledge and skills that are required in the field of Architect. It is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The first classes in architecture were started at the Sir J.J.School of Art in 1900 under the supervision of John Begg, first consulting Architect to the Government of Bombay.
Being one among the top colleges in India, the institute offers both under graduate and post graduate programs in Architecture i.e. B.Arch (Bachelor in Architecture) and M.Arch (Master of Architecture). The B.Arch degree is five years full time course, whereas M.Arch is two years full time course.
Sir J. J College of Architecture is located at Dr.D.N.Road, Fort, Mumbai. The building of the institute was designed by M.C.Murzban A.C.E. It has a huge library that hosts a collection of over 16,000 books and journals. The Testing laboratory is well equipped. It has well maintained computer library with high speed internet connectivity. One of the most striking features of the campus is that there is the Dean’s bungalow, which is rich in its beauty.
