Seth G.S. Medical College is one of the pioneer institutes of medical education in India. It was set up in the year 1926 in order to cater the demand for superior health care facilities in the country. Seth G.S. Medical College constantly strives for sustaining its position among the top medical colleges in India. It has been accredited with Medical Council of India and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

The college offers a wide range of under graduate and post graduate courses in medical education. MBBS is one of the main courses offered by the institute. Other programs include B.Sc in Occupational therapy and B.Sc in physiotherapy. Seth G.S. Medical College also provides excellent facilities for post graduate programs such as M.D, M.S, M.Sc, M.Ch and D.M.

The selection for the post graduate courses for the year 2007-08 in Physiotherapy (M.P.Th.), Occupational Therapy (M.O.Th.) & Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (M.A.S.L.P.) was carried out in accordance with the rules and orders issued by Government from time to time and on the basis of directions / decisions given by Hon’ble Court in various court cases. This procedure was called as “Procedure for selection and admission to postgraduate courses at the State Government Colleges / Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Colleges & Central Govt. Institutes situated in Maharashtra”. This procedure was applicable for PGP-CET / PGO-CET & PGASL-CET for admissions for the year 2007-2008.

Facilities:

The institute is located at Parel in Mumbai. It has been accorded with ultra modern facilities that help in all round development of students in medical education. The institute is also has a teaching hospital namely, KEM (King Edward Memorial Hospital), wherein the students are trained to upgrade their practical knowledge about medical and Para medical education. The hospital has 390 physicians, 550 resident doctors and 1800 beds.
