Sawai Man Singh Medical (SMS) College is considered as the 15th center for medical education in India. It was established in the year 1947. Since its inception, the college has been generating some highly qualified professionals in the field of medicine. The college is named after former Maharaja of Jaipur- Sawai Man Singh. It is affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur.
Sawai Man Singh Medical (SMS) College is renowned for its four and a half years full time MBBS course that is divided into three phases and nine semesters. The course also includes 12 months internship program that bridges the gap between theory knowledge and practical experience. The college also conducts features a separate dental wing as it also stresses on four years full time program of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery).
Admission to this institute is done on the basis of the Entrance exam.
The institute has nestled its campus in the capital city of Rajasthan i.e. Jaipur. The campus has been accorded with entire modern facilities that include gymnasium, swimming pool and a library that has a fine collection of specialized books on different subjects. The institute is also associated with many hospitals such as Sawai Singh Hospital, Zanana hospital, Mahila Chikatsalaya, Hospital for chest disease and tuberculosis, Sir Padampat Mother and Child Health care Center and the list goes on further.
