National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Calcutta is the fourth branch of NIFT. The institute had a modest beginning in the year 1995 with a hired accommodation on Manjusha Bhavan at Salt Lake. Today, it has emerged as a leading designing institute that has more than 750 students pursuing different designing courses in its permanent five acres campus at salt lake.

Admission is been done on the basis of the entrance examination and personal interviews.
NID (National Institute of Design) is located in the posh vicinity of Calcutta i.e. Salt Lake. The institute has been equipped with modern infrastructure facilities that include well furnished class rooms and libraries.
Placement is the first thing that comes to a student mind, once he/she completes their course. Keeping this thing in mind, NIFT, Calcutta has designed their placements cell that helps the students in getting recruit to the leading companies through campus selection. Some of the companies that visit every year for recruitment process are Van Huesan, Louis Phillip, Spykar jeans, United Colors of Benetton, Excalibur, Wills Lifestyle and many more.
