Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) was established in the year 2007 by Sri Achyuta Samanta. The college has been awarded with the status of a deemed university by the University Grants of Commission. Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences is approved by Medical Council of India (MCI) and Dental Council of India (DCI). Initially, it was affiliated to Utkal University but later on it was brought into affiliation with KIIT University.

One of the main under graduate courses, offered by the institute is Bachelor of Medicine and bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), which is four and a half years full time program that also includes one year internship program. While pursuing the course, one acquires in-depth knowledge about the field of medical science, through observation, experimentation, practical exposure and theoretical knowledge. It also imparts five years full time course of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery).


Admissions:

Admission into the M.B.B.S. Programme is through KIITEE.

ELIGIBILITY :-

10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for general category candidates and 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for SC/ST Candidates.

Age : Lower age should be 17 years as on 31.12.12 & upper age limit should be maximum 25 years as on 31.12.12. The upper age limit may be relaxed by Five year for SC/ST candidates.
